Kerim Sener, BSc (Hons) MSc DIC PhD FGS
Principal Geologist

Kerim graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Geology in 1997 and from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, with an MSc in Mineral Exploration in 1998. After working for Independence Gold Mining Pvt. Ltd. (Lonmin Zimbabwe) he completed a PhD at the University of Western Australia. During his PhD he worked with ASX-listed Northern Gold NL in the Northern Territory and on a variety of exploration consultancy projects in Western Australia. Kerim is a founder of AIM-listed Ariana Resources plc. and is its managing director; during the past seven years he has progressed the company from its inception as a junior exploration company to a gold mining company operating in Turkey. In 2009, he completed his military service with honours in the 58th Infantry Regiment in Turkey.

He is a Fellow of The Geological Society of London, Member of The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists. He is also a non-executive technical director of ASX-listed Genesis Resources Limited.  Kerim is bilingual in English and Turkish (basic Russian and German).

Francis Wedin, BSc (Hons) FGS
Principal Geologist

Francis Wedin graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Exploration and Resource Geology in 2007.  He is an experienced geologist, having worked for Matrix in Macedonia, Ariana Resources and European Goldfields JV in Turkey, and briefly for Oxus Gold in Uzbekistan.  He is skilled in generating, acquiring and advancing projects from grassroots exploration to production stage. His focus is grassroots exploration for gold, but has worked on a variety of projects in different stages of development.

He is also currently pursuing a part-time PhD on gold metallogenesis and exploration techniques in western Turkey, at Cardiff University . 

Francis is a Fellow of The Geological Society of London and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists. He has project management experience and qualifications.  Francis is bilingual in English and Turkish (basic Swedish and French), and has an extensive expat background.

Zack van Coller, BSc (Hons)
Exploration Geologist

Zack van Coller graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Exploration and Resource Geology in 2010. Zack has an extensive background of mineralogical research, including work with the National Museum of Wales to analyse trace elements in sphalerite from Mississippi Valley-type lead-zinc deposits. He undertook his Honours mapping project for Ariana Resources in Turkey and, since graduating, has been involved on a variety of exploration programmes. To date he has been involved in grassroots exploration targeting of low-sulphidation Au-Ag deposits and advanced project development of a high-sulphidation Cu-Au deposit. Zack is bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
